I shielded my children from the horrible things that happened yesterday in our beautiful city of Charlottesville. I don't want them to know that there are despicable people out there who think the color of their skin is superior to anyone else's. My children and their generation will grow up in a diverse and inclusive world where racism will be just a dusty archaic word. I am beyond proud of the Cville people for standing up against hatred and intolerance. #jj_emotional #jj_portraiture #portraitmood #rsa_portaits #cville #charlottesville #portraitpage #portraitfestival #gotd_1597

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! A despicable act of hatred that's beyond words😡
Well said bans gorgeous shot. We cannot let these dreadful people win over us by making us fearful ! Atrocities help unite a community and show that most people are beautiful, like and caring 💚😘
xoxo 💕❤️
@larsedbertsson thank you, my friend!
@newyorklahoman I agree. Thank you, Michael!
@carolyn_j_usa yes, it was terrible. Thank you!
@shezasphotos you are right, Sheza. Fortunately our people stood up fiercely against those nazis. I hope you have a great week!😘
Oana, I'm so glad the local residents stood up against these symbols of hatred. It took our president far too long to declare there is no place for racism in our country.
@franko68 I didn't expect anything less from him. He chose Steve Bannon as his chief political strategist. Obviously our president is still counting on the votes of all the white supremacists for his second mandate.
@oanaphoto Of course he is. There is a reason he chooses orange over brown for the color of his fake tan.
@franko68 😂 good one. You need to tweet that to him😉
#Repost @nytimes (@get_repost) ・・・ Thousands of people gathered on the @uva campus in #Charlottesville last night in the glow of candlelight, striking a peaceful contrast to the torches wielded by white supremacists on Friday. The vigil was largely organized by word of mouth, and its leaders strove to keep the plans off social media. The result: a warm gathering that provided some small measure of relief to a college town left in turmoil by the weekend’s events. The marchers — many of them college students — retraced the steps of Friday’s march. But instead of torches and racist chants, they carried candles and sang songs of peace. A student read Maya Angelou’s “Still I Rise,” and the group concluded by singing “Amazing Grace” and the “The Good Old Song,” the university’s traditional alma mater. The vigil capped off a quiet day of community grieving in Charlottesville, coming hours after a memorial for #HeatherHeyer, the woman who was killed on Saturday. "We are each other's harvest; we are each other's business; we are each other's magnitude and bond." ☁️ This Gwendolyn Brooks quote has gripped my imagination over the last few days. As a licensed massage therapist, I've grown to have deep respect for the intricacies and wonders of the human form. The body continues to amaze and confound me. And as anyone else who's taken the journey toward reverencing it can probably attest, you learn a couple of life lessons when you give yourself over to the study of anatomy and physiology: ☁️ 1.) Beneath categories and labels of gender, race, socioeconomics, and sexuality, the functional anatomy of human beings is pretty much the same - hearts beating, lungs breathing, minds processing - a seemingly infinite host of integrated and complex systems keeping each one of us alive. This idea is profoundly more than mere cliché: We are not so different from one another, underneath it all. That's fact. ☁️ 2.) Body systems are inextricably linked to one another. An illness or injury to one part of the body impacts the whole. And although modern Western medicine sometimes compartmentalizes illness, the reality of our well-being is wound up together through nuanced holistic connection - body, mind, and spirit all participating together, all involved, whether we acknowledge it or not. ☁️ Similarly, we - all together on this planet - belong to one another. Whether we feel like it or not, we are entirely in community. We are connected. And although we may not immediately feel or recognize it, when one part of our human family suffers or is disenfranchised, it damages the health and prosperity of us all. Practical inclusion is the only healthy way forward. ☁️ How that happens is up to us. Whether it happens is also up to us. But any way you slice it, "We are each other's magnitude and bond." And that's not a matter of opinion. That's fact. 🌤️ make :: space. // FOR COMMUNITY. ☁️ #beanally #blacklivesmatter #charlottesville #gwendolynbrooks #inclusionworks #lgbtqsupport #lovewins #makespacelife #makespacerva #massagetherapy #massageworks #rva #rvawellness #safespace ☁️ Design by @makespacelife. "So if ever a man should ask you for your business, or your name, tell him to go and fuck himself, tell his friends to do the same. Because a man who’d trade his liberty for a safe and dreamless sleep doesn’t deserve the both of them, and neither shall he keep." . . . . . . . #frankturner #milliondead #🙌🏻 #charlottesville

This government is failing our country. Millions of americans fought and died in the civil war and WWII and many died and were hurt during the civil rights protests in the 1960's , all to protect our american way life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness ... we are not going to let those sacrifices be in vain.
