At #7 on my Top 10 Catcher Rankings is Mike Zunino of the Seattle Mariners. ⚾️ Zunino, 26, has had an interesting career so far. After being selected 3rd overall in the 2012 MLB Draft, Zunino faces high expectations, as he was supposed to be the team’s next great bat. He struggled from the time he got called up in 2013. Between 2013-2016, he never had one season above .214 average, and struck out. However, in 2017, Zunino broke out, hitting .251 with 25 HR and 64 RBI. Hitting Coach Edgar Martinez must’ve fixed something with Zunino’s swing, and it’s payed off beautifully. Defensively, Zunino has always been solid behind the dish. In 2017, his rdrs (defensive runs saved) was 4. Nothing special, but definitely not bad at all. Zunino has a lot of pop, and projects to be a 35 homerun guy sometime in the future. ⚾️ Zunino looks like he’s just going to get better. With my stat prediction, I am putting faith that with Edgar Martinez, Zunino will continue to develop into an even better hitter. I don’t see him going much higher than .260, so .257 seems about right. The homeruns are tricky, as his max is 25, but as mentioned before, he could become a 35 homerun guy sometime in the future. For now, I’ll stick with Zunino hitting .257, 26 HR, and 64 RBI. If the Mariners want to make the playoffs, they are going to need another big year from Zunino. Hopefully, he can continue to get better and better with age. #mlb#baseball#miketrout#bryceharper#mannymachado#claytonkershaw#bartolocolon#jdmartinez#yankees#giants#redsox#derekjeter#aaronjudge#giancarlostanton#baseball#christianyelich #andrewmccutchen#busterposey#madisonbumgarner#josealtuve#erichosmer#jakearrieta#phillies

One of the game's most dominant pitchers is still on the free agent market. He would be a good fit for any team looking for another starter. He turns 32 this March and a team could sign him much cheaper now, than they could before spring training. Perfect fits for Arrieta include the Phillies, Cardinals, and Brewers. Teams need to take advantage of this low risk, high reward opportunity 👀 #jakearrieta #cubs #phillies #brewers #cardinals #rumors #hotstove #mlb #thetripleplay
