Another monday is upon us and we give thanks just for the opportunity to be able to welcome it with hearts overflowing, ready and able to contribute to making this world so much better. A smile, an unexpected hug, a simple word of greeting are sometimes all it takes. “Built to thrive” is our focus this week and I got this interesting statement from watching a video clip from Robin Sharma. In this clip he states – “human beings are meant to grow and are built to thrive”. As I reflected on the statement – pictures of women started dancing before my eyes.
I put this forward being a woman (It could be suggested that I am using unfair advantage here), that we are seriously resilient and it takes a lot to break us down permanently. Notice I said permanently. It is a fact that requires no “laboring” over. Speaking of which … the mere fact that many of us endure hours of labor during childbirth… Do I need to qualify my stance any further? We are emotional human beings, who at the end of the day, when the moment has passed (childbirth or otherwise) will take charge over our affairs because we truly are built to thrive. “Built to thrive” in the worst situations and that is what I would like each of us to remember today.
You are built to thrive, so when the challenges come,- Breathe deep and say – “I am built to thrive, and thrive I will”. Today I applaud all of us especially those who face constant abuse in whatever way, shape or form. But I relax in the midst of my comfort to you, knowing that you are built to thrive and thrive you will. And you will rise above everything and continue to be the amazing individual you are.

What a heartfull this sentiment is. We ALL face the reality and choice of remaining in our comfort zones or dipping our toes, er plunging rather, into that unfamiliar, scary place just outside if it. Maybe it's as simple as changing your diet and trying new foods; starting a new workout regiment; moving to a new city; or changing your career.
For me it's taking the next step in my business! I co uod easily stay where I am and keep things the same. It would be fine. But being honest, that wouldn't really be me. I've always sought out the "next thing", however I usually don't do it until I feel I know what the outcome will be.
Not this time!
My entire career as a photographer I've shot all natural light: lifestyle sessions and outdoors. This is where my heart is! However I have recently take big steps to build up a studio in my home. The shore of this new adventure feels a little far away but I'm looking forward to adding a new style of photography and creating a personal and safe space for my clients.
All of my gear arrived yesterday and I'm itching to get it all set up. Stay tuned for photos and updates!
