Ooh this is really pretty with the rings of the tree. Sadly my children's primary school cut down birches that were against the school building as were we live is a bush fire risk area. I was mortified when I found them on a burn pile
so I collected the trunk and branches and brought them home so they wouldn't be burnt. I was going to use them to make a wicker fence but now after seeing your lovely posts I'm thinking some could be carved into beautiful pieces like this or make runes. I've never carved wood before. Do you think it's a better idea to use the birch this way than just piping it around my garden ?
@theforestandthefae hello my love. I am so happy you found a new home for that beautiful birch. It's a very resilient tree and can be used to create almost anything so I'm sure it would serve well and look beautiful as a wicker fence....I can just imagine!
I shall double check with my wood fairy later to be sure to be sure
you could always keep a small bit aside to make birch charms and spiritual divination tools as its known since ancient times to be an excellent wood for divination as well as for its believed good luck and protective charms.
I hope you enjoy working with it lovely
@rediscoveringdanu thank you
