Today in the North Santee community of Georgetown, SC, my grandpa John Moultrie earned the award for Mt. Zion AME Church Father of the Year 2018. While I don’t have many direct father figures to look up to, he’s a consistent example that’s there’s a few good men. My family came down from North Carolina to help celebrate the honor. Several years ago, I remember telling him of how I didn’t wanna move back to simple ol’ South Carolina. This was after a couple years in the Queen City of Charlotte, North Carolina. He told me, “Don’t ever forget where you came from.” I was reluctant to leave Chapel Hill for the weekend. Crafting my CV, taking another practice GRE, afternoons in Davis Library. Few people were worried about me not being on social media. I said 2 months, not 2 years. But this post comes after just 2 weeks to let y’all know I’m still alive. Just had to remind myself of why I do what I do. From Lake City to A&T, from Georgetown to UNC. @uncmcnair #843#2weeks
Was at a coworkers retirement party the other day and I saw this lady dressed in a romper. Real talk, she had all her s*** on point and I had to draw Tara in one • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
Fun Fact: Tara prefers to wear a lot of sweats and other comfortable clothes. Baggy T-Shirts, sweats, shorts, loose jeans, etc. She rarely leaves home when she isn’t working, but the few times she does she’ll throw on something nice ♀️ • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
Haven’t posted, Tara in a while partly b/c I’ve been trying to better her design. I’ve gotten more comfortable drawing her and I’ll feature her on the page more soon. More Summer Time OC posts coming soon. I’ll redo this and color it b/c I really like how this came out.
