This 90s film follows a new member of a presidential campaign and how he has to help the candidate win. The candidate is Jack Stanton, a incredibly smooth and charismatic man. He also sometimes gets caught in hot water. The movie shows how his campaign works and what challenges it faces to win the presidency. The film is also very dated as it is loosely based on the Bill Clinton campaigns for president.
John Travolta plays Stanton, a caricature of President Clinton. He does it very well too. He plays a guy you want to just listen to and one who was meant for politics. He's a guy you would vote for. Emma Thompson plays his wife and also does a great job. Adrian Lester is Henry, the new member of his team and is the main character. He's excellent. The movie is entertaining and can be at times very funny. It's a fun watch and one of the best films about presidential elections even though it doesn't always relate to the current times.
