Doing goblet squats to failure was the first time I experienced locking into that coveted 'zone'. It's all in the breath, I learned. And hoping not to drive your counting partner crazy while waiting! Squats are one of my favorite exercises because they remind me that my limits are often farther than I think. Some days I feel like I might throw up if I do too many, but that day I reached 351 consecutive squats - and remember thinking, if I don't stop now, I'm totally paying for this later - even though I knew I COULD keep pushing.
Breathing through it (through your nose) + listening to your body is the ticket. And it's never worth 'killing' yourself over. If you enjoy it enough, save room to enjoy it another day.
I doubt I'll do that many squats again, and yes I most definitely waddled for at least 3 days straight! But damn, learning that you are stronger than you think, is pretty awesome. (: @scottadamsrva )
