Doing goblet squats to failure was the first time I experienced locking into that coveted 'zone'. It's all in the breath, I learned. And hoping not to drive your counting partner crazy while waiting! Squats are one of my favorite exercises because they remind me that my limits are often farther than I think. Some days I feel like I might throw up if I do too many, but that day I reached 351 consecutive squats - and remember thinking, if I don't stop now, I'm totally paying for this later - even though I knew I COULD keep pushing. # Breathing through it (through your nose) + listening to your body is the ticket. And it's never worth 'killing' yourself over. If you enjoy it enough, save room to enjoy it another day. # I doubt I'll do that many squats again, and yes I most definitely waddled for at least 3 days straight! But damn, learning that you are stronger than you think, is pretty awesome. (๐Ÿ“ธ: @scottadamsrva )

NEW! An original lithograph on smooth wove paper by American artist #EllsworthKelly (1923-2015) "Derrieฬ€re Le Miroir No. 110 (back cover)", 1958. Made for Kelly's first ever collaboration with Derriere Le Miroir No. 110 in October - November, 1958. This lithograph was derived from a collage of 1958, EK No.58.101. Published in conjunction with his first one-man show show at Galerie Maeght, Paris. Published by Maeght Editeur, Paris, in the Editions Pierre a Feu, the issue is unsigned and unnumbered. The installment of Derriere le miroir effectively represents Kelly's first color printmaking activity and reflects a return to color in the artist's paintings of late 1958 - 1959, after a period of predominantly black and white work. The imagery Kelly provided for the issue relates to the geometric and organic figure - ground paintings of 1954-58. Reference: "The Prints of Ellsworth Kelly: A Catalogue Raisonee: (Axsom I.a, page 175). Sheet size: 15" x 11.125". Very good condition. Ellsworth Kelly (May 31, 1923 โ€“ December 27, 2015) was an American painter, sculptor, and printmaker associated with hard-edge painting, Color Field painting and minimalism. His works demonstrate unassuming techniques emphasizing simplicity of form, similar to the work of John McLaughlin and Kenneth Noland. Kelly often employed bright colors. He lived and worked in Spencertown, New York. #abstractpainting #abstractart #popart #frankstella #screenprint #silkscreen #josefalbers #lithography #lithograph #abstractexpressionist #abstractexpressionism #bauhaus #minimalist #minimalism #andywarhol #sothebys #1stdibs #christies #contemporaryart #gravesinternationalart #cville #arthistory #artbasel #modernart #moma #museumofmodernart #charlottesville #artmuseum #midcenturymodern
