The #WhitneyHouston documentary #Whitney premiered yesterday (May 17th) at the #CannesFilmFestival and the film reveal some dark secrets that allegedly happened to the iconic singer during her childhood.
Houston's longtime assistant revealed to the filmmaker that the late singer told her that she was molested by her cousin #DeeDeeWarwick sister of #DionneWarwick at a young age. Her brother #GaryGarlandHouston also reveals that he was molested between the ages of 7 and 9 by a female family member and continues that his sister was abused as well. ——————————————————
Warwick who was 18 years older than then #grammyaward winning singer died in 2008. The allegations are revealed about three-quarters into "Whitney" sheds light on the singers life dealing with drug abuse. The film suggests that the abuse happened while Houston's mom #CissyHouston was on tour. "Whitney" is set to hit theaters July 7th.
Friends of #WhitneyHouston allege the singer was #molested as a child by her #cousin#DeeDeeWarwick in a documentary that premiered Thursday at the #CannesFilmFestival.
Houston’s longtime assistant Mary Jones tells filmmaker #KevinMacdonald that the late singer told her that Warwick, the sister of #DionneWarwick, molested her at a young age. Houston’s brother Gary Garland-Houston also says he was molested between the ages of 7 and 9 by a female family member and says his sister was abused too.
Dee Dee Warwick, who was 18 years older than Houston, died in 2008.

Enraged, disgusted, and sad are the three emotions I feel about this. I’ve always suspected that Whitney went through something very traumatic as a child that left her scarred and it has been proven true. Her own COUSIN. A family member! Someone who was meant to protect her! Whitney was a TODDLER, for Christ’s sake. Unfortunately, this happens a lot in the African American community and it’s not discussed enough. I wish Whitney told her mother about what happened. She left the world with that burden heavy on her heart. Rest in PISS, Dee Dee.
