Senate Judiciary panel: Kushner had contacts about WikiLeaks, Russian overtures he did not disclose #FACTS NOV. 16, 2017. #PresidentTrump adviser and son-in-law #JaredKushner received and forwarded emails about #WikiLeaks and a "Russian backdoor overture and dinner invite" that he kept from #SenateJudiciaryCommittee investigators, according to panel leaders demanding that he produce the missing records.
Committee Chairman Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa) and ranking member #DianneFeinstein (D-Calif.) sent a letter to Kushner's lawyer #AbbeLowell on Thursday charging that #Kushner has failed to disclose several documents, #records and transcripts in response to multiple inquiries from committee investigators.
In the letter, #Grassley and Feinstein instruct Kushner's team to turn over "several documents that are known to exist" because other witnesses in their probe already gave them to investigators. They include a series of "September 2016 email communications to Mr. Kushner concerning WikiLeaks," which the committee leaders say Kushner then forwarded to another campaign official. Earlier this week, Trump's son #DonaldTrump Jr. revealed that he had had direct communication with WikiLeaks over private Twitter messages during the campaign.
Committee leaders said Kushner also withheld from the committee "documents concerning a 'Russian backdoor overture and dinner invite' " that he had forwarded to other campaign officials. And they said Kushner had been made privy to "communications with Sergei Millian" — a #Belarusan#American businessman who claims close ties to the #Trumps and was the source of salacious details in a dossier about the president's 2013 trip to #Moscow — but failed to turn those records over to investigators. "You also have not produced any phone records that we presume exist and would relate to Mr. Kushner's communications," Grassley and Feinstein wrote.
Grassley and Feinstein demanded that Kushner comply with their request for documents by Nov. 27, but stopped short of issuing a formal threat to #subpoena those records if Kushner misses the deadline. #NINFONETWORK#FOODNINFO#ENTERTAINMENTNINFO#VEHICLENINFO#BUZZFEED#HUFFPOST#NYC#LA#PUTIN

Early Draft of #Comey’s Statement Called #Clinton ‘Grossly Negligent,’ Grassley Says!
#Senate Judiciary Chairman #ChuckGrassley said Monday an early draft of then-#FBIDirector#JamesComey’s public statement on the #HillaryClinton#email case called her "grossly negligent" -- a legally significant phrase that was excised from the final version. The Iowa #Republican wants to know who edited the draft and why, and has asked current FBI Director #ChristopherWray to provide all documents to that effect, including metadata for the file to see if it shows who made the edits.
A federal statute provides criminal penalties for "gross negligence," but #Comey in his public statement on #July 5 instead called #Clinton "extremely careless" in her handling of classified information when she was #secretaryofstate. He said no prosecutor would bring a criminal case against her. “Although Director #Comey’s original version of his statement acknowledged that #SecretaryClinton had violated the statute prohibiting gross negligence in the handling of classified information, he nonetheless exonerated her in that early, #May 2nd draft statement anyway, arguing that this part of the statute should not be enforced,” #Grassley said in a letter to Wray.
#Grassley has been probing the #email case as part of his look at the firing of #Comey by President #DonaldTrump. The ranking #Democrat on the committee, #DianneFeinstein of #California, has said she isn’t interested in reviewing the #email case and the panel should keep its focus on possible collusion between #Trump’scampaign and #Russia in last year’s #presidentialcampaign and any obstruction of #justice in the firing of #Comey.
