Didn’t like what I saw from Arden Key. He seemed to wake up against Alabama but other than that I didn’t like what I saw. Arden Key is a 6’6, 265 pound edge rushes from LSU. He played in 8 games in 2018. He had 13 solo tackles, 18 assisted, 33 total, 4 sacks, 5.5 TFL and 1 forced fumble.
Pros: size, length, ability to drop in coverage, he’s raw so he’s got room to grow, he’s effective using his hands when he puts in the effort, quick around the edge and bends the edge well.
Cons: very inconsistent effort, lacks motor, struggles getting off blocks, lacks speed and twitch, slow get off and the question of why he left school for 4 months.
Summary: I saw a lot of things I didn’t like from Arden Key. He has the physical tools to be a dominant pass rusher but the effort and motor just aren’t there and he’s gets stuck on blocks a lot. He very raw and still can grow but I really just didn’t like what I saw from him and I think he’s going to be a bust if he gets drafted before the 4th round.
Draft Projection: 1st round
Best team fit: New England Patriots
Player Comparison: Alison Smith
This year 2018 draft we need to try to go out and get another cornerback in a office of guard and another defensive end and a good fast receiver. what do you guys think..... comment below #saints#whodatnation#nfldraft2018
