Hi everyone! @mattbeckmannimages here with a takeover today. I'm a landscape photographer living in Albuquerque, NM. I enjoy landscape photography for many reasons, it allows me to get away from my full time job as an engineer and use the creative side of my brain, and it gets me outside! I shoot all types of landscapes, but one of my favorite types is night photography, and there are some extremely dark skies and interesting subjects here in the American Southwest for this. "Anyone out there?" This image is from the perseid meteor shower back in 2016, at the VLA in New Mexico. It is a great place to go for night photography, in the middle of nowhere to avoid interference means nothing around for miles. Shot for several hours, most of it with the moon still up, but still managed to see a ton of meteors, including the two seen here. This was right after the moon set. The light on the horizon is from the town of Socorro, 70 miles away. These VLA dishes are so massive, and they are moving constantly!
