Dutch-born, German-based Yiddish singer, Lin Jaldati (13 December 1912 – 31 August 1988) also known by her stage name "Rebekka Brilleslijper," survivor of Bergen-Belsen and Auschwitz concentration camp(s). Lin survived most of the war in the Dutch Underground only to be betrayed. During the war she was the last person to see Annelies (Anne) Frank before her death in March of 1945. Jaldati was a self proclaimed Socialist who rose from the ashes of Nazism through her music. Her work memorialized the Holocaust and envisioned a more peaceful future for Europe, Germany in particular, as well as the rest of the world. Years after the second world war, she would perform in Moscow, China, North Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and India.
