After driving 1000 miles and delivering a load to the Walmart DC in my area, i parked my truck in a walmart parking lot near my house. The manager got all rude and told me that if i leave my truck there it will be towed. It was parked far away from the store in an area where trucks park away from customers vehicles. So if walmart doesnt want trucks or truckers... fuck em! #boycottwalmart#trucker#18wheeler#nevershopwalmart
I’ve lived on a dairy farm and I’ve worked on a dairy farm. It’s not the first or the last time I’ll hear about how milk prices are super low and how farmers simply cannot afford having their cows anymore. There are small and big farms selling out because it’s gotten to the point where prices are so low, farmers absolutely have no other option. Recently Deans Dairy signed a contract with Wal-Mart. For those who don’t know what that means, it means Deans is sending out 140 or more letters to 140 farmers stating they can’t take the farmers milk in anymore and as it is no longer needed. Dairy farmers are struggling as is with how low milk prices are right now and now they have to find somewhere else to haul their milk too. Which means, it’s putting these small local dairy farms out of business because it’s gotten to be too expensive to have cattle. please, please support your local dairy farm and STOP BUYING WAL-MART DAIRY PRODUCTS. you’re only making it worse by buying Walmart’s products and not going somewhere else. Just remember, the next time you drink or eat anything dairy, THANK A FARMER. because there’s gonna be a day where farms aren’t going to be around anymore. Support them before it’s too late. #boycottwalmart#NoFarmersNoFood#SupportYourLocalDairyFarmers
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — An Oregon man filed suits Monday claiming Dick's Sporting Goods and Walmart discriminated against the 20-year-old when they refused to sell him a rifle.
Dick's and Walmart restricted gun sales to adults 21 and older in the wake of the Florida high school massacre. The 19-year-old accused in the school slaying bought the AR-15 used in the attack legally.
Oregon law allows residents to buy shotguns or rifles starting at age 18.
Petition: City of Asheville wants body cam video released in 'excessive' use of force arrest
The City of Asheville has filed a petition to the have body camera footage released in a police case officials claim involved excessive use of force.
Tyler Watson's lawsuits filed against the retailers in two separate counties claim he faced age discrimination from Dick's and Walmart. The lawsuit is believed to be the first filed over the new gun policies enacted on Feb. 28.
The lawsuit claims a store owned by Dick's Sporting Goods in Medford, Oregon, refused to sell Watson .22-caliber Ruger rifle on Feb. 24. The suit says Grants Pass Walmart in Oregon refused to sell him a gun on March 3.
It's not clear if Watson knew at that point of the restrictions. "He was really just trying to buy a rifle," said his attorney Max Whittington.
Watson is asking judges to force Dick's and Walmart "to stop unlawfully discriminating against 18, 19, and 20 year-old customers at all Oregon locations." Additionally, he is asking for unspecified punitive damages.
Walmart spokesman Randy Hargrove said the retailer plans to defend the new policy. "We stand behind our decision and plan to defend it," he said. "While we haven't seen the complaint, we will respond as appropriate with the court." A representative from Dick's hasn't responded to a request for comment.
