Been meaning to give the Dusty Gringo by @deepcreekbrewingco a go for a while now, and sure enough it did not disappoint. It pours a deep brown with a medium sized beige head. Complex nose offering a strong roasted malt profile, plum, raisins, chocolate and aniseed with a good whiff of grapefruit peel and resinous hops. Sticky and sweet upfront, with toffee, dark fruit and chocolate dancing across the palate, followed by a solid grapefruit and hop bitterness to balance it, the finish warm and boozy with some resin and aniseed lingering afterward. Medium bodied, relatively light carbonation and a syrupy mouthfeel. Absolute banger of a beer - Think Scotch Ale x American IPA.

TAS Iron House “Daytripper - Adventure Beer” Pale Lager 3.0%
A+T says we understand the idea of a light beer - you can drink more cans whilst enjoying the after-effects of having done so in moderation. Great in theory, but wouldn’t it be more enjoyable to just drink less of what you really like? Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a bad beer; hoppy upfront with a slightly thin but sweet malt body and late bitterness. Perhaps it’s a sales thing, but I know I’d prefer three of the Iron House Milk Stouts over six of these. Each to their own I guess. 3/5
