It happened. Again: No other team in the world loses a game like that in those circumstances. The way the Washington Nationals let that game slip is so mind blowing but also not surprising given what DC sports are. This city is cursed. 2012 was one of the most brutal losses ever but it was the start of the Nationals' run at things. Then the losses kept racking up. Heart break after heart break, Nats fans became numb to this feeling. Game 5 last night doesn't anger me. It doesn't shock me. Game 5 is just sad. The narrative of this 2017 Nationals' team was how it was the deepest Nats team ever with the best Nats lineup ever. All amazing 162 games played by Washington became meaningless after last night. All the hours spent in the regular season and all the stress went to waste. This is a depressing feeling. The Nationals do not have many flaws in their squad so there won't be a rejuvenating offseason to pump me up. There isn't much to fix to this team besides finally winning a postseason series. DC's sole championship contender choked again. What a laughing stock. One day when DC breaks the curse, it will feel truly amazing. No other city and its fans deserve a championship more than DC.
