Day 1: bedroom vegetable operation. Hard, local garlic in brine; organic sour carrots on the go; kombucha in the kitchen; and fermenting ginger. Gut health has had such a profound impact on making my head a happier place to live.
Grinding, everyday! Just another Thursday working my land. Raising my babies right. Holding shit down. Living a Decolonized way of life.
This is a fermented fruit juice made with prickly pear fruit and a persimmon (you can use any fruit). It smells like desert fruit, is slimy like the prickly pear pad, and makes a mineral rich fertilizer/carbonated soda.
Other level gardening status can be attained if you focus on your grow game. Break the nutrient bottle addiction. Take the power into your own hands and ferment you own inputs. Quality control to the max. Feed your soil. Grow your soil. It cost me $3 to make a 5 cup batch of boutique botanical fertilizer for fruiting, blooming, or seeding plants. It also makes a lot of soda. Feed the microbes in your guts ya'll.
What's the application rate? 2 TBSP for a 5 gal brew or a tsp for a liter spray bottle. I used a cup because I'm going to dilute and dispense to plants 1 part tea to 9 parts rainwater. All the water you see here is precious Sonoran Desert rainwater. We keep it real like that.
