American author and social activist, #BellHooks, described her as being “for everybody”. British actress and global activist @EmmaWatson described her as being “equality: politically, culturally, socially and economically”. Yet, despite the endorsements she's still not everyone’s cup of tea (and knows it). Read my one-on-one interview with this juggernaut of change. Link in bio!

READ: this is not true for all cases though!!! calling someone beautiful can be very empowering and make their day, but sometimes it feels like such compliments are the only compliments that have any value in our society. i’ve been in situations where i’ve complimented people for being funny/nice and felt uncomfortable because by complimenting their personality instead of complimenting their looks it was almost as if i were implying that they were ugly??? does that make sense??? idk i feel like we should more regularly comment on achievement and personality, not on things that people were born with and can’t control (for the most part). -lauren
sorry for the ugly post
