Stacks is a popular breakfast/brunch spot located in Irvine that serves a variety of Hawaii themed food. I really wished they had the spam musibi, but unfortunately that's a Mon thru Fri deal. So, how did their kalua pork Benny stack up?
The Benny is served on an English muffin. Although it tastes good, it was a little soggy and broke apart at the slightest touch. Perhaps a quick toast could firm it up a bit. The kalua pork was pretty delicious, shredded just enough and with some good flavor to it. The eggs on top were poached perfectly and the hollandaise had a nice sweetness to it without being too heavy. Potatoes in the side were roasted well, though needed a little salt.
A nice place with some great choices. Don't expect any complex flavors or depth to the dish, but rather a simple Benedict done well.

Just look at the size of that fritter.

Seriously, that thing was massive. But this apple and cranberry fritter from @grizzbysdonuts wasn't too sweet. For my donut lovers, it tasted like a buttermilk bar with fruit inside. Definitely a good one to share!
