Fun fact: Out of all the citrus oils you can drink in your water, grapefruit is my fave. I also don't like ice. #motheringessentials #stayhydrated #drinkwater

Lately I’ve been talking about relationships and how we connect with people on so many levels and how it’s so difficult at times and finding the balance in all these different relationships which got me thinking about other areas where relationships have faltered like my relationship with food for one. I grew up in poverty and that had a great effect on me as a child and as I grew older my relationships with food were never really associated with my health or wellness in mind. So I would be filling my body with stuff that was fast and easy to fill up on things I couldn’t fill up with other areas of my life. Now I’m a mom and with a son who is autistic with food sensory issues that developed over time so that I didn’t even notice. Again the relationship with food became fast and loose with our eating because we were all exhausted of battling each other that is would end in a big mess of hurt and sad emotional states. So here I am really taking time for me and just coming out of three different illnesses that followed each other back to back :(.....again food was loose and fast and while I got better I noticed that my body just didn’t feel good anymore. I realize that relationships aren’t just with people they are with everything we come into contact with, all of creation we have relationships with. This new year has given me a wake up call to address my relationships with food, in all aspects of my health, mental, emotional, physical and spiritual to really align my values to include food as ceremony for me. I am beginning a journey and I hope you come with me as I relearn and make friends with food again. #foodblog #healthylivingblog #indigneous #foodblogger #healthandwellness #foodasceremony #relationshipfoodgoals #comewithme #followme #jenmenominee

Made it past the 2️⃣1️⃣ day mark of healthy living! They say it takes 21 days to make or break a habit, so I’m feeling hopeful that this lifestyle change will stick. 🎉 21 days of all the fruits and veggies I can eat 🍎🥕, sweating my booty off at the gym at 5AM 😅, passing on having a drink at dinner 🚫🍷, and making decisions based on how to better fuel my body rather than giving into my cravings ⛽️ ———————————————————————— Ready to get back at the gym after taking a rest day. I definitely can feel my body making progress - running longer, lifting more, increasing resistance, etc. Been doing some research on a race I really want to do, and hope to sign up soon! It’s something outside of my comfort zone, but I’m excited to train for something new 😬 More details to come! ———————————————————————— #health #healthylifestyle #healthyliving #healthandfitness #healthandwellness #fitness #fitnessmotivation #fitnessjourney #fitnessgoals #21days #21daystoformahabit #plantbased #plantbaseddiet #healthyeating #vegetarian #eattofuel #girlswhoworkout #girlswholift #girlswhotrain #loveyourself #loveyourbody #bodypositive #bodypositivity #irunthisbody #shecanandshedid

Comparison has been a recurring theme with a lot of my clients this past week. In fact, it happened while eating a snack with one of my clients today. But rather than allow this comparison to steal his joy, I am proud to say he was able to rationalize his way out of it. . On days like today, when I have back-to-back clients and hardly a spare moment to use the restroom, I end up eating with my clients. When I pulled out a bag of trail mix this afternoon, I noticed my client’s eyes go wide. When I questioned his reaction, he explained he was shocked by what I was eating, as well as the serving size. However, the client immediately followed this statement by explaining this wasn’t fair of him—he didn’t know how hungry I was, what I had eaten prior to this snack, when I’d have a chance to eat again, or if I was honoring my intuitive eating cues. . Interactions like this are “proud mama” moments that I cherish. I am honored to play a part in the recovery process of so many—to help them push away disordered thoughts, find freedom from food, and embrace life to the fullest. . This is my truth. What’s yours?
