I was really anxious in the moments leading up to my class last night. It was rainy and gray and not many students seemed to want to make it out to practice. The speakers weren't cooperating so I would need to teach in silence. However, I opened the barn doors and our music instead ended up being sound of birds chirping, the rain, and our unified breath. It was such a beautiful practice and an experience that totally turned my mood upside down.
I've had a really weird past week emotionally; partly, I suspect due to hormones and partly maybe because of the dreary weather. I haven't been practicing yoga asana, except stolen minutes here and there. My body feels stiff and slightly lethargic and overall I've felt so unmotivated to get on my mat. Last night my theme in class, ironically, was Tapas. In yoga, this is discipline--that inner fire that gets you on your mat. My students last night ignited my own motivation to practice and reminded me of the sense of CONNECTION you feel in yoga. I am so grateful for the opportunity to teach yoga and endlessly thankful for how INSPIRING you all are. In class, I feel like I'm the one learning the most :') END RANT!!
