The Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is back and there’s no denying it gets bigger and better every year. Christmas markets and fairs are part of the reason children get more excited about Christmas than they do about Eid. Of course there’s no harm in visiting the wonderland too, but it shouldn’t be a bigger deal than Ramadan.
If you’re not living in a Muslim country, there might not be something similar during the month of Ramadan, but you can start planning a month of weekend activities so that the build up to Eid will be an exciting and fun-packed time. Saturday afternoons at the cinema or at the roller skating rink are always great fun for the little ones. Of course Ramadan is about getting closer to Allah (SWT) and that’s all the more reason our children should understand it as a special time from an early age.
