A close confidant of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyhau that was arrested recently in connection with a new corruption probe is suspected of offering a judge the country’s top justice post in exchange for using the position to kill an investigation into Sara Netanyahu’s alleged misuse of public funds, Israeli media reports said Tuesday.Israeli journalist Ben Caspit revealed that judge Hila Gerstel was offered the position of Attorney General in 2015 by Nir Hefetz, a former personal spokesman for the Netanyahu family, through an intermediary.Police confirmed the details of Caspit’s report, without naming those involved.According to the report, Gerstel was “shocked” by the proposal. Netanyahu Says Israel Will Act Against Iran If Needed
