Are you a graduate student? Thinking about it? Call your representatives in congress today while they are still hashing out this awful bill.... graduate programs that are funded or partially funded work by giving you a tuition waiver. This bill wants to pretend that that waiver (i.e. What you are not paying) is actually income and wants to tax you on it. For example: columbia is a whopping $57k a year, but I'm only paying $26k (20 with Stafford loan, 6 with work) the rest is a combo of scholarship and fellowship. If trumps tax plan succeeds we could be taxed on that other $30k, meaning I'd have to pay about $10k in taxes on money I never saw that satisfied some bloated numbers created by the university. Education needs to be More affordable not less. Everything about this tax plan stinks, from its bound to fail trickle down economics to its taxing the very poor to its impact on healthcare. #fuckthistaxplan#eattherich#kleptocracy#citizensuniteddestroyeddemocracy#recognizeourunionnow#graduateworkers#gwc
Vladimir Putin is seeking a fourth term in office — which would keep him in the Kremlin through 2024, if he wins another six-year term as expected.
“I am sure that we will be very successful," Putin, 65, said after confirming his plan to mount a re-election bid.
Comrade Putin has acted as Russia's prime minister or president in every year since 1999. He served two terms as president, from 2000 to 2008. At the end of that stretch, he became prime minister to his close ally, Dmitry Medvedev — and Russia then changed its law to make the presidency run for six-year terms. #democracyinaction#onceiputinidontpullout#changeisoverratediguess#oligarchy#kleptocracy
