Random thoughts: one of these beards is not like the other. Nothing says friendship like male nudity in confined spaces. Oh and this beer is quite tasty.
@twinsailsbeer Random Thoughts is a sour farmhouse saison conditioned in red wine barrels on blackberries and cherries. Pouring pink/amber, the tart punch of cherry hits the nose hard with a slight farmhouse funk and red wine following. The flavour is tart and complex, with less Brett funk than I was expecting being a farmhouse. The cherry on the nose comes through on the tongue with a touch of dry red wine finish on the tongue. VERY carbonated (see last pic), finishing off-dry with a sour lingering acidity. Overall a nice beer, great for sharing but not something I’d want to personally crush 750ml of in a go. ~Brian

Background: Dogfish Head Brewery (@DogfishHead) located in the sleepy hamlet of Milton, Delaware is known for brewing off-centered ales for off-centered people. As a previous resident of Delaware, Dogfish Head holds a special place in my heart. They make truly remarkable beers, wonderful spirits, and some of the best pub fare you’ll ever have.
Taste: Let’s get one thing straight, Dogfish Head does not mess around when it comes to high ABV beers and this barleywine is no exception at near 15%. Even so, this manages to maintain a medium body and a silky mouth feel. Sweet, fruity, and really punches you in the face with aromas of figs, raisins, and pears. This will send a warming sensation throughout your entire body, and almost feels like it seeps into your cells. You will certainly feel this one so take it slow.
