I've loved Mcfly since 5 colours. I was just a young girl (11) that fell in love with a boyband (Tom is a man crush, not gonna lie) Nothing new.
I never got to see them live, my family aren't the concert kind of family and I was too young to go alone. But now, I'm 23, I have a pretty well paid job, and no real responsibility. So, of course when mcfly announced their anthology tour, I was gonna be there.
On Monday. I travelled with my girlfriend (luckily also a mcfly fan) to Manchester, ready for 3 nights of Mcfly madness. I hadn't taken the minifig I'd made at home, so we'd popped into a lego store and tried to recreate it. They didn't have the same tshirt and guitar as the one I'd made previously, but this worked pretty well.
Night 2 of the tour. I waited with a few other fans by the stage door after the show. Hoping to give it to Tom. He came outside, but he walked past me and spoke to someone else before getting in the car. I was absolutely gutted.
Night 3, I wasn't going to bother trying to pass it on if I'm honest. I was still sad about the night before but we waited. Tom strolled out the venue. This time, the band didn't stop (I don't blame them, there was a lot more fans!) And the got straight into the car. The passenger side window of the car was open. So I saw my chance, I threw it in through the window, hoping to get it onto the seat (I don't think it landed on the seat) and I slightly obsessively tweeted Tom telling him it was there.
No tweet back. No acknowledgement of my tweets. I'd assumed he hadn't found it. BUT THEN I was in the train station, awaiting the train home. Scrolling through my news feed and I saw this photo. Tom had found my minifigure. There are no words to describe that moment. I was shaking so much my girlfriend had to type a comment on it for me.
So thank you Tom! Not only for the great 3 shows, but for finding Lego Tom. I hope you keep him safe!
