Castello di Amorosa is a unique landmark in Napa Valley as it is a castle that houses a winery. It is a representation of 13th century Tuscan castle and it took the owner Dario Sattui almost 15 years to build his dream project. The winery estate is spread over 121,000 square feet and the sights and sound of the place takes you back to the medieval era of ancient Italy.
The castle features one of the most detailed artworks by Italian artists and a 12,000-square-foot Grand Barrel room that includes 40 Roman Cross vaulted brick ceilings. Then there is a Great Hall that includes a 22-foot-high coffered ceiling that features hand-painted water paintings and a 500-year-old fireplace.
While you soak in the history of the castle on one of the guided tours you can sip on some of the best Italian-style wines that Napa has to offer - it truly is wine tasting in style!
