One of my favourite free agent this year. Donte Moncrief is only 24 and has four seasons under his belt. He has shown flashes of possibly being a dominant No. 2 receiver in this league, however seems to rely on solid quarterback play. Moncrief had his best season in 2015, catching 64 passes for 733 yards and 6 touchdowns, with a healthy Andrew Luck under center. In 2016 and 2017, Moncrief battled with injuries, however wasn’t nearly as productive when on the field. Some of that could be attributed to his health, and Luck’s health. He has totalled 698 yards and 9 touchdowns on 56 catches over the past two seasons. — Value: With his recent struggles, Moncrief’s value has taken a heavy hit, however his age and potential helps him. A 2-3 year deal worth anything from $4-6 million annually seems likely and fair. — Possible destinations: Personally, I would love to see Moncrief on the Saints. New Orleans could be searching for an option opposite of Michael Thomas, this offseason, and who better then Moncrief. He remains young, will be 25 come next season, and has proven to be a threat when healthy and backed by solid quarterback play (doesn’t get much better then Brees). Other possible destinations are the Redskins, Bears, Eagles and Panthers, among others. — #IndianapolisColts #Colts #Indianapolis #DonteMoncrief #Moncrief #freeagent #contract #Saints #Eagles #Redskins #Bears #sports #NFL #football #nflscoop

The Cincinnati Bengals have hired Teryl Austin as defensive coordinator. Austin had the same position with the Lions for the past four seasons, however once Jim Caldwell was fired, he became available. Austin interviewed for the Lions head coaching opening, however was reportedly never in true contention. Apart from the Lions, he was drawing interest from other teams, including the Raiders, who offered him the assistant head coach position, along with being defensive backs coach. Austin evidently preferred to stay coordinator, set to replace Paul Guenther who left to be Gruden’s DC in Oakland. He will be tasked with improving what was once a dominant Bengals defense. — #CincinnatiBengals #Bengals #Cincinnati #TerylAustin #Austin #Lions #Raiders #sportsnews #instasports #sports #news #NFL #football #nflscoop

The Chicago Bears have hired Matt Nagy to be the teams next head coach. Nagy, 39, has spent the past five seasons with the Chiefs, serving as quarterbacks coach from 2013-16 before being promoted to offensive coordinator in 2017. Nagy took over play calling duties in week 5, and was credited for being a key part to the teams success. The Bears had made it clear they were looking for an offensive-minded coach in order to help the development of No. 2 overall pick Mitch Trubisky. He takes over a Bears team that struggled mightily in the John Fox era and has some work to do before returning to contention. The Bears were likely motivated the success Rams HC Sean McVay had in his first season, completely turning around the program and are likely hoping for the same outcome for Nagy. — #ChicagoBears #Bears #Chicago #MattNagy #Nagy #Chiefs #sportsnews #instasports #sports #news #NFL #football #nflscoop

The Jacksonville Jaguars have defeated the Buffalo Bills 10-3, advancing to the divisional round. Evident by the score, there was very little offense in this one. The only touchdown of the game came in the third quarter, when Bortles connected with TE Ben Koyack on a fourth and one play. Bortles would prove to be more affective on the ground then through the air, finishing the game with 88 rushing yards and 87 passing yards. Despite his ankle injury, LeSean McCoy totaled 119 yards, while Taylor went 17/37 for 134 yards and 1 interception. The dominant Jaguars defense managed 2 sacks and 2 interceptions, including the game sealing pick from Ramsey with less then 30 seconds to play. — The Jaguars will now be traveling to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers, while the Titans will head to New England to face the Patriots in next weeks AFC divisional round games. — #JacksonvilleJaguars #Jaguars #Jacksonville #BuffaloBills #Bills #Buffalo #JalenRamsey #LeSeanMcCoy #BlakeBortles #TyrodTaylor #sportsnews #instasports #sports #news #NFL #football #nflscoop

The Green Bay Packers have promoted director of player personnel Brian Gutekunst to general manager. Gutekunst is taking over for Ted Thompson who had been occupying the position since 2005. Gutekunst has been a candidate for multiple GM openings over the past few years. He was set to interview for the Texans job, however was offered the Packers role prior to the interview. Gutekunst has been within the Packers organization for the past 19 seasons. He will now be tasked to retool a roster around star quarterback Aaron Rodgers and bring playoff football back to Green Bay after missing the cut for the first time in 8 years. — #GreenBayPackers #Packers #GreenBay #BrianGutekunst #Gutekunst #sportsnews #instasports #sports #news #NFL #football #nflscoop

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown will play in the divisional round and is expected to be 100% healthy. Brown missed the final two weeks of the season due to a calf injury he suffered in the teams loss to the Patriots. Despite missing 2 games, Brown led the league in receiving yards, with 1533, and was the only unanimous All-Pro selection. Having him back at full strength is a huge boost for a Steelers offense that has struggled to stay healthy in the postseason over the past few years. — Pittsburgh will either host the Titans or the Jaguars in next weeks divisional round. — #PittsburghSteelers #Steelers #Pittsburgh #AntonioBrown #Brown #sportsnews #instasports #sports #news #NFL #football #nflscoop

According to reports, the Kansas City Chiefs remain open to trading QB Alex Smith this offseason. Despite their willingness to move the veteran, the team won’t actively seek a trade. — Ever since the Chiefs traded up to select Patrick Mahomes this past draft, it’s been rumored to be Smith’s final year in Kansas City. Smith has had a solid year, throwing for 4042 yards, 26 touchdowns and only 5 interceptions, while leading the Chiefs to a division title. The Broncos, Browns, Jaguars, Cardinals, Jets and Bills are all expected to show interest. — #KansasCityChiefs #Chiefs #KansasCity #AlexSmith #Smith #sportsnews #instasports #sports #news #NFL #football #nflscoop

The Oakland Raiders have hired Jon Gruden to be the teams next head coach. The official announcement is expected to come on Tuesday. The contract is reportedly worth around $100 million over 10-years. Gruden, 54, last coached in 2008 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He’s since been a commentator for ESPN, becoming an iconic voice. He will call his last game in the booth when the Chiefs take on the Titans on Saturday. — This won’t be Gruden’s first stint with the silver and black, having coached the team from 1998 to 2001. In that time, he led the Raiders to back-to-back division titles and playoff appearances. Oakland trade Gruden the following year, to Tampa Bay, where he went on to win Super Bowl XXXVII over the Raiders in his first season with the team. — According to reports, Rams quarterback coach Greg Olsen is set to become the offensive coordinator, Bengals’ defensive coordinator Paul Guenther and Cowboys’ special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia are expected to take over the same positions under Gruden. — Coming off an underperforming year, expectations will be high in Gruden’s first season at the helm. — #OaklandRaiders #Raiders #Oakland #JonGruden #Gruden #ESPN #sportsnews #breakingnews #instasports #sports #news #NFL #football #nflscoop
