Afternoon // Raise your hand if you have a favorite comfy shirt, a go-to article of clothing for the days where actually getting dressed seems like too much work ♀️ This lumberjack looking shirt is mine because it’s super soft and easy to throw on. I feel semi put together and can show my face in most places. I’m not living my best sartorial life, but I ain’t gonna be featured on “People of WalMart” neither! • Now raise your hand if you have a similar go-to mood or attitude. It feels like our society has become so isolated and complacent, hesitant to reach out to others, and THIS mood, the one we may have reserved for rainy days, has become the norm. Are we pushing ourselves or are we sitting around in metaphorical sweats a majority of the time? • Today I finished by twelfth book of the year (I challenge myself to read 100 each year) and I reached for the next one on the list: “The Joy Plan” by Kaia Roman. I took a moment to ask myself why I’d picked this up - it was during a run to the library with my kids and I was basically grabbing any adult book in sight. But we don’t make random choices, do we? I was giving myself a subconscious message that I’d grown too comfortable in that mediocre attitude. • If you find yourself saying “OMG same!” then feel free to join me here; I’ll be posting Roman’s joyful tips from the book as well as my own thoughts and opinions. I’d love to hear what YOU have to say on the subject, as well!
