LUKE'S KITCHEN + BAR =
Maitland scored with this addition to the neighborhood. This is by the same restaurant group that owns the successful Park Ave favs Luma and Prado.
Self proclaimed contemporary - industry feel the designer gets rave reviews from me. The place just feels cool. Open kitchen, patio seating, nice bar with some cocktails made with some love, that will cost you some dollars.
I sat at the bar with colleagues and wanted a sampling of the entire bar... I mean dinner.. menu.
Apps like rock shrimp fritters, deviled eggs with pork belly, fresh grilled okra, sashimi style yellowtail with lemongrass and thin shaved jalapeños and of course their smoke box oysters.
Everything on the menu appealed to me, it had interest and flare but in no way over the top. Of course they have a burger for the boring eaters in the group.
