Repost from @veterans_come_first
For the past several months, liberals across the United States have been demanding the removal of various monuments dedicated to Confederates who fought in the United States Civil War, claiming that those statues are racist. Statues of famous generals such as Robert E. Lee have been targeted. Many people have fought against the removal of these statues, claiming that they are a part of history and shouldn’t be forgotten. Actor James Woods got in on the debate over these statues on Twitter on Monday. Woods posted a photo of the statue of the flag raising on Iwo Jima, along with caption that was very powerful.
James Woods, a true American patriot, is absolutely right in what he says. People who raise their dirty hands against historical monuments, firstly, are cowards, and, secondly, are scoundrels for whom there is nothing sacred. During the Civil War thousands of American people fought on both sides and the basis of reconciliation of the North and South was the reverence of the memory of ALL fallen. That is why when a modern American teenager from Tennessee or Alabama is brainwashed that his great-grandfather was a racist and a murderer, he has every right to fight for his history, for the memory and honor of his ancestors. When all the southern monuments to soldiers and generals are demolished, the liberals will begin to destroy monuments to the heroes of World War II, the heroes of Vietnam, and the heroes of the Korean War. I think every American patriot should firmly and severely confront it.
