| Pace and Poise |
Two highly, undervalued characteristics, in which every Gentleman, should aspire to perfect.
As my Grandpa would always convey unto me.
He'd say Son, every Fella, should approach life with a Gentlemanly pace, and poise to match.
Lesson learned, as well as applied GrandPa,
Your most appreciative, Grandson,

Lee Enterprises has announced that Kevin Kampman will be the new publisher of the Times-News and the Elko Daily Free Press. “I’ve spent my entire career in the community newspaper business,” he said. “I believe content is king and that having excellent content at all of our publications will be a given.” (Drew Nash | Times-News) #Newspapers#Publisher
I can’t remember what made me buy this book, but I’m glad I did, it was a good read. A story about a graphic novelist who just discovered a one night stand is going to have some more long term consequences than she had expected and her usually picture perfect step sister that is going through some struggles intertwines with extended family in a Southern town with a lot of dark secrets. Im giving it .5/5. I liked this book, but I’m sitting here after I just finished and wondering why I didn’t like it more, what about it didn’t blow me away because it has all the elements of my favorite kinds of books. It’s got a big twist, tough family issues, great insight on important topics weaves into the narrative.. I think I didn’t really connect to the narrator, as much as I love a good plot, it’s so much better for me when I love the characters too. I honestly feel ashamed to say it because it feels judgmentalish of me just typing it, but I think it might be the graphic novelist aspect that I didn’t appreciate. Or maybe it was more how unaware the main character was of racism in her Southern life until she herself dealt with it, which came off as naive and a bit ignorant to me. I also felt like some of the storylines went unresolved which is one of my biggest pet peeves. What are your pet peeves as a reader? Has anyone else experienced the feeling of wishing they liked a book more than they really did? Or guilt for not liking a book that other people loved? #bookstagram#bookstagrammer#bookstagramfeature#books#bookworm#bookish#amreading#book#booklover#reading#igreads#publisher#ilovereading#bookish#bibliophile#alwaysreading#fortheloveofreading#booknerd#bibliophile#reader#igbooks#bookwormproblems#thealmostsisters#joshilynjackson#almostsisters
