In my feverish state last night I dreamt about a tailor shop. It was filled with the brightest Kurta’s and the most vibrant pairs of shoes. I don’t know why I was there. But everything felt familiar. The clothes, the colors, even the girl
Who was talking to me.
The owner of the shop seemed grumpy but when he looked at me, he smiled. I still don’t know what I was doing in the shop. I mean, I don’t even like shopping.
I went towards the collection of shoes that were not vibrant. They were placed in a small rack at the far end of the shop. They were earthy and simple. I liked them.
It was weird, though. They seemed out of place. I decided to let go of those thoughts. Just as I picked a pair, my eyes fell upon a shelf. At first, it didn’t seem real.
A book shop behind a tailor shop? Did the tailor know how to read?
Just like all dreams lucid and wonky. I stepped into the book shop. And suddenly as if I had entered Narnia I felt like I had entered a spaceship. I ran inside the shop and saw the book they had displayed. They were mostly academic and in regional language.
When I stepped out of the shop, defeated and ready to go back to the earthy shoes. My eyes fell upon the most brilliant sunset. The sun was bright red and the orange shown as if it was the last goddam sunset ever. The clouds pooled around the sun, and it felt as if the sun was resting on them.
After a few moments, I realized that we were on some kind of aircraft. The clouds were beneath us and the sun directly in front of us. But I decided to let go of that confusion to take as many pictures of this beautiful sunset. It felt like a sign. My uncle was there cracking a dad joke about the sunset. Being there felt so real! That is until, I woke up drenched in my own sweat. .
