Carbalon is the trade name for the 2-part urethane compound used in the late 70s and early 80s to make hard copies. This was a brownish material. This is in contrast to two other materials later used: Repro 10 which was a black material (swipe to see the black Bossk hard copy arms) and Dynacast which was a greenish material used later in the 80s (swipe to see the Nikto hard copy). In the Vintage Vocab segment of ‘Chive Cast 49: “Dengar and the Mystery of the Woodchuck’s Cave(Yoda), Ron Salvatore join Skye and Steve to discuss Carbalon and Hard Copies in detail. You’ll also hear a very interesting Storytime from Ron about an almost 20 year old find in Cincinnati that unearthed countless hard copies, soft copies, and what is likely all of the existent Micro Collection molds.
