chocolate chia pudding with blackberries & hemp seeds
Chia seeds are an amazing source of Omega 3's. They help improve skin complexion & improve sleep! I tend to have super dry skin in the winter & even sometimes have a really hard time falling asleep, so I will be loading up on those chia seeds to help with all of that this time of year.
Directions --> in a mason jar, shake together 2 tbsp @betterbodyfoods chia seeds + 3/4C almond milk + 1/4 tsp vanilla extract + 1 scoop @drinkorgain vegan creamy chocolate protein powder + 1/2 scoop of @detoxorganics chocolate superfood powder + 1/2 tbsp pure maple syrup + pinch of cinnamon. Store this in the fridge overnight to thicken. I served this with blackberries & hemp seeds

today was a day of days. found out I need oral surgery on top of wisdom teeth surgery so I’m in no mood to cook today. looks like I’m having leftover vegan sesame chicken takeout from the other night. can’t complain 🤷🏻♀️
Still can’t get enough of these crackers from Laura's cookbook @thefirstmess . Adding beets, cabbage and turmeric to them made them so gorgeous! For those of you following my personal shenanigans, here’s an update: Edmonton has been…interesting. But not all in a bad way. We’ve been here for 2 weeks now and ALMOST everything that could have gone wrong to our apartment has. We arrived and were told the place we were signing a lease for was up for sale, then they failed to tell us about the 2 giant holes in the wall from pipe repairs, then the internet wasn’t working for 2 days, THEN we a pipe in our heater burst and flood an inch of water around our living room. That was definitely a ‘great’ way to start a Saturday. But we aren’t fretting on those issues. The move itself was a breeze; all our stuff made it and adjusting to the city has been easy. Our kitchen is a little bare at the moment, which explains my absence lately BUT I am slowly building up my pantry again and will be posting recipes shortly. I’ve been trying to keep up with insta-stories and still filling you guys in on what I’m up to. I have some amazing plans for this weekend’s Old Strathcona Farmers' Market though (hoping this Saturday will be better than the last!). Get ready to be introduced to some Alberta family-owned companies who put ALL the love into their products.
