Whiskey of the Week! Yellowstone 2016 Limited Edition!
I didn't get my hands on this until late 2017, and it was one of my favorite pours of the year.
Made up of two bourbons, aged 7 and 12 years, and finished in toasted wine casks, this whiskey has something for everyone. The nose is a good balance of rye, dark fruit, citrus peel, spice, pepper and oak. The palate is juicy, with cinnamon and black pepper up front. Sweet corn, vanilla and oak come in mid palate, followed by dark cherry and cocoa. The finish is medium length, with a good mouth feel. It starts hot, with drying oak and vanilla rounding things out. Can't wait to get my hands on the 2017 Limited Edition. Thanks @limestonebranch for the great pour!
